While the city of San Jose awaits more money to invest in a ballpark for the Oakland A’s. Oakland is making efforts this week to prevent that from happening. Mayor Ron Dellums and City Council President will speak today at a press conference organized by the non-profit group “Let’s Go Oakland”. The conference will take place at City Hall and scheduled to begin at 11am. Jane Brunner will also be holding a community advisory meeting this Saturday May 1st at Peralta Elementary school in North Oakland.

　

Let’s Go Oakland organization composed of East Bay business, civil and labor leaders all dedicated to keep the beloved A’s here in Oakland. Along with Gruen Gruen & Associates, they have developed a economic study into the impact of what a waterfront stadium could do for the city of Oakland

The A’s were offer three different potential sites for a new stadium. Those sites all involve Jack London Square, and the surround area near the tourist attraction. They actually be the best case scenario for the team, as anywhere they might move for example for San Jose will ask the A’s to fund a majority for the money that would go into a new stadium.

San Jose has already invested $ 4.6 million dollars into acquiring land in the city’s downtown area that could become the beginnings for a new stadium. They still need $ 70 million dollar investment into the project to make it a “ dream come true”. In the meantime Oakland is taking the necessary action to get the community involved.
