Why else propose that the A's take Zito off the Giants' hands - including taking his contract - in exchange for the Giants' giving the territorial rights to the South Bay to the A's? The A's should pay for the privilege of taking on a failed pitcher and helping the Giants to escape the full consequences of their bad contract decisions? All this for a "right" to build a ballpark in San José?
