If Selig says no to San Jose, "We have no plan B," Wolff said. "But it can't be in Oakland."

Then you have no plan at all lew

Very cool this Donald Knauss CEO of Clorox is, helped get the Astros their ballpark

"Knauss has a history of linking businesses to stadium renovation. He was President and CEO of the Minute Maid Company when they secured the naming rights for Minute Maid Park in Houston"

We all know Wolff will not put the team for sale unless Selig tells him it is time for him to deal...

Personally I think it is a positive thing that Wolff hasn't shown any interest on anything Oakland has to offer... he would never trully
negotiate and boycott any Oakland's true effort
as he has already done in the past.

The big issue here is whether Selig feels the Giants won't budge on the TR to SJ and decides the next best thing would be if this group would be willing to build a privately funded ballpark as they've suggested today.

The Oakland A's remain on Selig's hands...Wolff is just a front man playing his role.

would Selig back down on his stand that it was a mistake for the A's to have come to Oakland in the first place? would he allow a new ownership group to build a ballpark in Oakland?

Valid questions Oaksi, hopefully as Carl Steward mentioned in a recent blog chat , there are owners in MLB who will go with Oakland (if the Giants TR hold), because they believe the Bay Area is big enough for two MLB teams, even if it isn't in SJ. Hopefully, with enough owners seeing Oakland's big company commitment, Selig will finally back down. Also, what's to stop a new Oakland ballpark from selling luxury boxes to nearby SJ Fortune 500 companies? Those big-shots already drive to SF, not much difference distance wise to Oakland

Some believe that Selig would have considered accepting the sale to the Piccinini group had they showed they could put together a privately funded ballpark. However, at the time Dolich said he saw no reason to build a new ballpark and Selig frowned at that.
We all know that if the Giants didn't fund their ballpark they would have gone to Tampa Bay way back then...
Selig evidently will have to either convince Fisher to compensate the Giants for years to come or settle for second best which would be a privately funded yard where there's a viable location.

The game changer is the Raiders .. case point if the Raiders leave to Santa Clra or Los Angeles then you can do a 6 million dollar man on the park ... we can rebuild her make her better tear down that wall put the bullpen under the bleachers get rid of foul lines etc...

remember the coliseum was considered one of the most beutiful parks in baseball 20 yrs ago and can be again, cheaperthen new it has bart n is centrally located and all the land around there rebuilt new hotels ect ...

The Raiders hold wild card they are planning things as we speak

I was told by a top official in the Oakland govt that the Warriors and Raiders have very happily spoken with the city about the "Coliseum City" plans. The A's so far have refused to talk with the City about anything.

Hey guys it's been a while since I've had a chance to stop by the site. It's good that this thing is finally moving in an optomistic direction. I'm never gonna count chickens before they hatch, but this is good momentum. On a side note that Inge walk-off was epic!
