At the end of the noon update, the announcer on 1050 mentioned there was a rally this afternoon in San Jose to show support for the A's moving to the area. It was just a one sentence comment with no details.

Who organized the rally? Was it promoted in the media? Who spoke? Did elected officials participate? What kind of crowd did it draw?

I just read a small blurb in the Oaklant tribune. It didn't sound like much. Two hundred people showed up as well as some south bay politicians.

It didn't sound like anyone from the A's organization showed, nor did it mention whether or not Wolff was there. I suspect not.

Lil, maybe we should have a rally in downtown oakland again? Let's organize something to counter the San Jose booster club.

We're doing some work behind the scenes and will update you when we know more. I support the idea of a rally in Oakland, but it would be best if we could connect it with an event, such as some kind of discussion/vote at City Hall, etc. We can draw more attention that way.

tekgraf, as Jen the OAFC current co-chair and spokes person said above, we are organizing a response to this latest development.

However, we've gained a lot of experience since 1998 when the OAFC was created, and feel we should do things in a more organized and thought out way so as to be more effective as a statement.

So stay tuned...

Great! Whatever you do, count me in!

Keep the A's here in Oakland and San Jose can keep Schott.
