Interesting, official site have updated uni numbers. No one has taken 15, Calero has taken 20. Blanton has moved down to 55 from 64 last year. Scutaro did not have 19 last year did he? Kendall gets his customary 18(of Dave Duncan and Art Howe fame).

As for the non roster invitees, Oakland's own Bobby Smith has accepted an invite. Smith has the distinction of competing with Jason Kidd back in high school on the court. He's a middle infielder, 3B type, came up with Atl, and saw some time with Tampa. Has pop and can run.

Did arthur Rhodes just rent #53 from Bradford, with an option to buy? Chadford is back to #53.

If Brian Lesher can have #24, then Danny Haren can have it too. :)

Well, at least Haren is a pitcher. So is Calero and he took #20. I would be surprised if a pitcher took #15 ... at least this season.

#4, Jermaine Clark. One year later.

Useless nugget of knowledge:

Dave Duncan had #10 when he played for the A's. LaRussa had #10 as Manager so Duncan used #18 as coach (the same number of the player who he plattooned with - Gene Tenace)

I would guess that if #15 is assigned to anyone this season, it would go to Rene Lachemann. He wore that number in his previous stint with Oakland, and is still "un-numbered" on the roster.

can we just retire #15 now?
