Not going to happen, but nice idea from Ratto on how the new ownership can spotlight not just A's greats, but all hometown baseball heroes.

Still waiting to see Eck's #43, Stew's #34, Rickey's #24(sorry Haren), McGwire's 25, and the older A's #s retired soon.
Hopefully when the A's get a new park, they will show the history of the team from the Phili to KC and finally Oakland.
9 WS titles is still the 2nd all time most by a franchise behind the Yanks and tied with the Cards. Hell, if Finley didn't sell off so many of the A's players after the 74 WS, that late 80s/early 90s team should've won multiple titles, and lets not forget these A's of the past 5 years should've at least won one WS. The A's could be in double digets easy if things went there way the past 30 years.
That's not even mentioning Connie Mack who was too cheap as an owner and those A's teams in the late 20s/early 30s could've won more titles.
I bet most baseball fans don't know that.

It might be tough to retire #34 for Dave Stewart, since it's already been retired for Rollie Fingers. I guess that the A's could do one of those weird dual-recognition things, like the Yankees did for #8 (Bill Dickey and Yogi Berra).

Well, we'll be seeing Eck's #43 up there soon. Isn't that getting retired this season?
