From the Gate sports page this AM:

Left-hander Joe Kennedy agreed to terms on a one-year, $2.8 million contract with the Oakland Athletics on Monday, avoiding arbitration.

Kennedy, expected to be part of the A's rotation in 2007, could earn an additional $300,000 in performance bonuses under terms of the deal. Kennedy can make $100,000 each for 20 and 25 starts, and an additional $50,000 each for 27 and 30 starts.

The 27-year-old Kennedy went 4-1 with a 2.31 ERA for the A's last season. He missed 84 games with tendinitis in his throwing shoulder but returned to the team in mid-August to help Oakland win the AL West. Kennedy didn't pitch in the A's division series win over Minnesota but pitched in all four games against Detroit in the ALCS.

The A's acquired Kennedy from Colorado on July 13, 2005.

Well with Embree and most likely either Marshall/Flores in the bullpen, good chance that Kennedy will be the #5 SP for the A's. He'd be the only LHSP the A's will have too...which you'd hope you'd have at least one of them in your rotation and nobody else really in the majors/minors who is a LH that has SP potentially...guess D.Meyer is a longshot if he has anything left.

-27 GS, 9-7, 162.1 IP, 163 hits, 68 ERs, 67 BBs, 117 Ks, 3.66 ERA, 1.42 WHIP, .265 BA against.

Hopefully he has those kind of #s he put in in COL of all places in 2004. Kennedy will turn 28 early next season...so hopefully we're getting him during his "prime" years.
