Is Piazza ever coming back?

OAFC BBS - All Topics: Archive: Is Piazza ever coming back?

Saw Piazza play this weekend at Raley Field and he raked the ball around the yard. Now, he's going to play several more games in Stockton, instead of rejoining the A's.

Why?

According to the Piazza camp, he's been able to swing the bat fine for quite some time, but he doesn't feel his shoulder is well enough to catch, as the A's have apparently asked him to do. Yet, he's not catching in his rehab assignments, he's DHing.

All sounds like a steaming pile to me. Methinks Beane is waiting to trade Piazza for another AA reliever, and if he put him back on the big league roster, there wouldn't be room for Beane's son, Bobby Kielty, to continue to sit there on the bench.

Bitter, but probably correct.

They'll probably wait until after "Mike Piazza Bobblehead Day" Saturday to deal him. That's alot of bobbleheads to get stuck with.

Remove the heads and reserve the number for the new guy. Promote it as a Medievel Piazza beheading day.
Allow patrons to bring Bradley bobblers to face the guillotine also.

Did they ever make a Macha doll ??

Medieval beheading day? Sorry, but you can't do that. Too many people would show up with their Chavez or Crosby dolls. :)

Macha doll? It wouldn't "bob", just nod off.

Doesn't the Bradley bobblehead explode if you shake it too much?

I know, we'll bring Macha back to bear hug the head off of the Bradley bobbler.

Best thing about the Bradley bobblehead was the white sunglasses.
