Just confirmed with David O'Brien at tne Atlanta Journal. Done deal now. Kotsay passed the physical.

"yes, he passed. And the other pitcher is Jamie Richmond, 21, a non-prospect who was 16-7 with a 2.48 ERA in three minor league seasons, including 7-6 with a 3.05 ERA in 25 games (24 starts) in 2006 at Class A Rome."

What is a "non-prospect"?

I'll never forget Kotsay's inside the park HR in the ALDS.

Me too, Ey. Plus Kot's a local Reno boy now so he's got that going for him which is good.

Glad to see him go to a contender and I hope he has a great season.

I like what we got back. # 5 and # 13 in the Braves top 20. I don't see any non-prospects.

Good trade all things considered.

Now go get Adam Jones, Billy.

I'm with you on that Inside the Parker, got this Beane group over the hump of elimination games with that play.

You know, despite the mixed reactions of the few fans who still admit to following the A's, I bet Billy Beane is having the time of his life. He is really in his element mining for young talent, and when the team agrees to eat $5 million of a bad contract like Kotsay's, he probably feels like he's playing with house money.

RHP Jamie Richmond, a 20-year-old from Toronto, was Appalachian League Pitcher of the Year after going 7-1 with a 1.21 ERA in 67 innings, walking four -- that's right, four -- and striking out 52. He got the start against the E-Twins in the last game of the teams' six-game series but was limited to two perfect innings to keep him fresh for the playoffs.

Here is a link to the video of Kotsay's inside-the-park HR. My favorite moments of him was that HR and meeting him at FanFest few years ago.

this was a great move for us and good move for atlanta as well. If kotsay is healthy, he's a gg cf'er.

This Richmond kid looks good too - seems we are really going after minor league pitchers with exception k:bb ratios.
